Here is my Double Page Spread Development
Reflection is one with my development
Examples:
Since I started to have some experience, I went straight into designing the double page spread, and took inspiration from one of the examples again. I once again used another extreme long shot, of Bali's beach, but and to subtly include some of the people in the image, to show the viewer that people at the are having a good time in Bali's beach, and may convince them. The image focuses on the small Balinese structure to keep Bali's culture in view and somewhat at the center. I started off using the example as a base and continuing from there. I really liked this example since it focuses on the main image, and has good white space, as well as keeping the modern feel with using grayscale colours, like white. I separated the article better using margin columns since my teacher had recommended it, and it makes it look more neat and organized. I then added the rest of the article on the right side of the page and put a black gradient behind it so that it can easily be read. I also made the image fill up more space so that the is utilized nicely. I used different typefaces to easily differentiate the article, heading and subheading to make it more pleasant for the reader to navigate through the contents page. then added the page numbers as well as a caption under the image with their own unique typefaces. I finally added some finishing touches to the image, like slightly changing the colours.
A drop cap was recommended by my teacher, as well as separating the first paragraph of the article into two so it looks more appealing. He also told me to include the name of who wrote the article. He also thought the text looked a bit too bold, so I decided to change the font to make it look less bold
